How to read ELSEWISE
No app, no account, no rules except one: we don't tell you who to be. Here is what to expect.
Two people you'll get to know
Nora is 17, thinks fast, talks faster and says yes to too many people. Alex is 18, the boy from across the street, thinks before he speaks and fixes what's broken. They are a couple and have been best friends since the first day of school. Both make mistakes, both change their minds, and neither of them has the answer at the end of a story.
How the stories work
Every story is one scene, five minutes long. It shows what happened. Then comes the question: What would you do next? And two sides, because almost everything has two. There is no resolution and no moral. If you want to talk to someone about a story afterwards, it has done its job.
Six themes
Mind and feelings, friendship and love, choices and the future, respect and values, family and life, money and independence. Each theme has cards, short sentences to take with you, and a question. The series names stay German, also in English: KOPF VOLL?, DU DARFST., KLARTEXT, ALTE SCHULE, KEIN PLAN?, NICHT OKAY.
What you won't find here
No comments, no messages, no account, no data about you, no advertising, no slang we had to look up, no therapy words and no promises we can't keep. When a story is too heavy, the help page with its numbers is right next to it.
Where to start
With a story. "The jacket" is the shortest. Or with the theme that is on your mind right now. Or with Nora, if you want to know first who you are dealing with.
